LIVE BRIEF
WEEK 1

Understanding the brief
It was a shame I could not see my tutors face to face while launching the brief because of the Covid-19. But we had this app called “Teams” which helped us communicate with our tutors and they explained the brief very well it took us like 2 hours explaining the brief and I made sure to make lists
of the things I need to focus on. After the video call with the students and tutors I went on my laptop and did some research about the sport centre I also went on the module information to get my head around it.
WEEK 2

Building up on SketchUp
This week I took the AutoCad plan into SketchUp to create a 3D of the place this is because I wanted to familiarise myself with the space. By doing this it helped me a lot to understand the space I am designing. This was a challenging for me because I did not have the opportunity to visit the site and look inside the place so I had to work with the pictures we have got from the tutors and also keeping in mind that this is a real-life project where am designing for a real client

WEEK 3

Design Development
This week I have done some sketches of the main section I was focusing at which is the toilet, office, reception and entrance. Sketching allowed me to get my ideas down quickly and made my ideas develop further. Next step is to develop and finalise my specification
WEEK 4

My Laptop Crashed
This week was a stressful for me. My laptop has crashed, and I did not know what to do but thank god my work was backed up on google drive which made my stressful a bit less. Because of the quarantine we are in I could not manage to fix my laptop but after few days I managed to borrow a laptop from one of my cousins. I realised I ran out time, so I applied for a PMC which made my life much more easier so then I cracked on with my work from where I left.
WEEK 5

WEEK 6

Visuals
This week is the deadline week, I made sure I have everything I need for this project. I went through the submission checklist and made sure I have got the Implement plan, Floor plan and Elevation I chose to have a rendered plan as I felt like I could communicate my idea through the rendered plan and elevation easily, this could show the colours and materials. I have also created 4 client board and added visuals with, so it is easy for the client to see and understand. What I felt comfortable with is that dividing the space and having different pages for the client board.
I have really enjoyed this LIVE BRIEF as it gave me a clue and experience of what I could do in the future with a real client. I learnt how to make a specification sheet which is helpful for me to have when working for a client. One thing I changed about my self during this live project is that I have always struggled to work at home as I get distracted or get lazy but in this situation of the quarantine it made me change myself and worked really hard, so I have learnt how to work independently; I am so used to work from Uni in the computer suite where I could get advices from my pupil and tutors.
