(WEEK 2-4)
CREATING A DESIGN MANIFESTO
Creating my Manifesto was really fun, i had the opportunities to figure who i am as a designer.
To start off, i begin to write down the key words i thought is important for me when designing something, even though i realised there is a lot important key points, it is like never ending but I picked the most important ones that demonstrates me as a person.
The first image I made it very simple and minimal. i included shapes and my visual. The shapes demonstrates the different forms used in design and the visual demonstrates me personally as i have created this visual for my previous project. I have used different type of fonts because i feel every font has a unique personality and purpose which i think it is good example to demonstrate every design has a different purpose.
For my final outcome I made it a bit messy and artistic.
-
The key points are floating on the page
-
I got different fonts and size
-
I have overlapped my two visuals to create layers
-
Included shapes
-
Colours
The reason i chose the second image as my final is because I have asked my family and friends to tell me which one describes me more. I have also showed them my previous projects so they can know my style and everyone chose the second image. I realised people around you can know u much better. Which helped me figure out my style in design.
If I get to re-do my manifesto I think I will make something physically than digital. I would create a collage that has different layers and textures, so you can feel the textures.

GUEST LECTURE
(Free Writing)
We had a guest lecture this week from Catherine Tomlin. The purpose of this lecture was to address, among other things, the method of free writing. I found this useful as free writing is one of the most effective writing techniques I’ve come across. I just need to place all my thoughts on a piece of paper, I don’t need to learn any special skills either.
I will continue to exercise each of these skills on blog posts, essays, and creation work in all of my modules in the future, and keep track of my progress to see how successful they are.
(WEEK 6)
LOGO DESIGN
I was experimenting with the logos to find out what represents me more. Most of the logos i created are my initials H.O and my tagline are INTERIOR DESIGN. I wanted to use my initial to represent my identity and i chose interior design for my tagline to demonstrate my chosen career field.
The second image is my finalised design logo. I chose the gray marble effect. The reason i chose gray is because it makes it look serious, professional, and credible. It also has a hi-tec feeling to it. Gray colour conveys a different type of messages. On top of my initials I put my full name to make it easier for people to know.
Overall I am really happy with my final logo design, it is minimal and classic design.

(WEEK 7)
BUSINESS CARD DESIGN
I didn't struggle in making business card as my logo was already chose and I already knew what i wanted for my business card.
Front my business card is my logo I kept it simple and the back side of the card i wrote my info such as like my social medias, phone number, email and my website. I used straight lines to divide the space, this makes it easier for people to see. i made sure i keep it simple and easy and not complicated.
I am happy with my business card at moment it might change in the future.

(WEEK 8)
UPDATE CV
This is my updated CV. I have not changed a lot compared to the previous CV because i didn't want my CV to be too packed. To give my CV a lively look, I have added a marble background with the hint of gold colour.
I have decided to include my visual on my CV because it shows my skills and my ability. My visual is from a recent module "Biophilic". I chose this project because I feel this was one of my best work i have done so far.
I have also included my logo as this is a significant piece of my own marking and will go inseparably with my business cards and portfolio as a firm bundle.

(T2 WEEK 1)
BEDROCK TILES
Peter Brown of Bedrock Tiles spoke at this week's lecture. The session discussed the ceramic and porcelain tile manufacturing process, but also the ratings and regulations that must be considered when choosing materials for a project.
I think Sustainability and recycled materials were a big aspect of this lecture, which i found it useful because it taught me how to use Ska and Breeam to find more environmentally friendly materials.
This lecture has taught me what to look for when defining items, also has expanded my certainty when it comes to materials.
I will make sure what i have learnt in this lecture to use it in the future projects.
( WEEK 1 OF NMP)
Today's to-do list was
Create Client profile
Spatial Diagram
Accommodation schedule
Moodboard
I have managed to accomplish my to-do list. I have enjoyed creating my client's profile as it was my imaginary. I did a lot of research on my chosen brief which was "Luxury House" I made sure what does a Luxury house include and so the trends so i know am upto date and not behind with my ideas.
I struggled creating a concept so i didn't want to spend all my time on that so i left it for next week.
creating mood board was useful because it gave me ideas of how i want my space to look like, it also makes it easier for the viewers to understand the look i am going for it.
I will be having 1:1 with my tutor and i will note down any improvements and tips my tutor will give so i can work on it next time.

(T2 WEEK 2)
Corian Product Talk
Ryan Beggs From CDUK spoke this week's lecture. The lecture covered the Corian manufacturing process, available colours and textures, as well as the company's core values, which include health and safety, environmental stewardship, human respect and high ethical behaviour.
This was an informative seminar that gave me a better understanding of the product, which will be useful in the future if i start working in the industry.
(T2 WEEK 3)
Presentation Skills
Today's lecture was given by Catherine Tomin, about Presentation skills. She explained what makes a good presentation, how to adapt to presenting online, and what to do if you have technical difficulties.
Technical challenges are never easy, but in today's lecture made understand how to over come from this. I have also learnt the structure of a presentation, i found it really useful because it give me the opportunity to learn how to be professional which i think it will really benefit me when i work in a professional field.
In the future when presenting my work, i will have the opportunities to put in what i have learnt from today's lecture.
Since we are in a pandemic, I will be having more online presentation which i am feeling positive about it because it will help me build my confidence.

(T2 WEEK 5)
Entrepreneurial Mindset
Today's lecture was a video of Entrepreneurial skills and mindset. It showed the essential purpose of success with business. some of the points were
-
Reconsider failure and then make sure to make it into a learning opportunity.
-
Maintain your curiosity and continue to learn new skills on a regular basis.
-
Set targets and deadline to stay concentrated on the end result.
I think these point are useful for my last year of university. Which i will make sure to use it during my rough time, as it is really hard to focus on my project during the lockdown, I sometimes lack of motivation.
(T2 WEEK 6)
Digital Portfolio
For my digital portfolio I have first tried to use ISSUU at the start i struggled I bit then somehow i couldn't upload more portfolios. After i had a 1:1 with my tutor Sarah, she suggested me to either make a folder as pdf or to use InDesign.
Now I have designed my portfolio in InDesign which was easier for me because I already had experience of using InDesign. The layout i chose is booklet which I think it is helpful when going through my digital portfolio.
In my Portfolio it has a cover page that has my logo and one of my chosen visual. I also included content page that shows the names of my project and page numbers. I have made sure to include a variety of skills in my portfolio such as, AutoCad plans, hand drawn sketches, rendered visuals and floor plan and 3D modeling, this is to demonstrate my skills depending on the requirements of the projects.
Overall I am happy with my digital portfolio, one thing I think i need to work on is that, re doing some of my visuals other than that i think I am good to go.

INDESIGN

Easter Break
Since we are in Lockdown, It is a really bad feeling knowing we can't go for a holiday.
To kill time and not feel suffocated, I decided to paint my mum's room to make her feel good. I really like painting because it has the power to engage me so fully, bringing me into the present moment, it also helped me reduce stress. As its my final year of uni and I had so many work to catch-up on.
One thing i realised about painting is that it helps me to concentrate, develop my critical thinking skills and enhance my skills.
Choosing the colour my mum want was a challenging as she wanted a bright colour like yellow/mustard. I had to get so many different samples to try which one will suit the room.
I have learnt new skills while painting such as problem solving, attention to detail. To have the thick colour I had to double coat the paint.
Overall it was a nice fun experience, it was much needed in this lockdown and stress of uni-work I took the advantage of the easter break and relaxed myself with painting the room.
