MARK ADDY

Mark Anthony Addy (1838-1890), known as ‘the Salford Hero’. He had many accomplishments in life however one stood out tall. He saved over 50 people from drowning in the River Irwell. He was awarded the Albert medal for this brave and courageous act.
The Mark Addy was named after this man. They took many responsibilities, its most recent was a pub. The pub that unfortunately was unable to stand after being crushed by the riverbank’s burst. In our current module (specialist studies in design – interior architecture) we have been asked to design a co-working space within the pub. From my first impressions I was a little unsure on how I can manage a task with narrow space. After visiting the site in person, I knew straight away that the place definitely has an aura of excellence. The building also has large possibilities on the outside with its large outdoor terrace areas.
