NEO BUILDING
The kind staff of Penketh group showed us around their show room that is also a co-working space. Within the NEO co working building, the Penketh group occupy two floors. Along with many other huge companies, Penketh are slowly migrating their ideas towards the ‘home from home’ thought. This is done so the people who work regularly feel at home and feel comfortable in their own space. Rather than coming to work early morning not being settled in, this would cause a delay in work and a delay on the individual’s interest.

NEO Penketh group are an interior and furniture firm that offer a large variety of different styled seating. What inspired me was that their seating plan on floor two was incredibly versatile. They have seating for those who prefer to work alone and also seating for those to work in pairs or bigger groups. The material was also switched when it came to the dinning seating, hardwearing material that can be wiped down easily. Finally, there is the privacy seating that dampen the noise and allow the induvial to focus with pin drop silence.

The ‘home from home’ idea inspires the public to feel relaxed and crack on with tasks simultaneously. I learnt many things from the tour, one of them being that everyone works differently. What works for one individual might not work for another, so it is important to have various different workstations that match everyone’s needs. I will adapt this idea into my co-working space to accommodate every individual rather than having one workstation for everyone.
